Updates: First mock-up practice

The past week has been busy, really busy…

On the costume front, our seamstress Coco Columbine has been creative with grey, white and black fabric, while the rest of the team has been shopping all around town for footwear, and new tops to complete our wardrobe. There’s been sequin sewing, bow gluing and costume fitting happening in our office all week. The result should be superb!

In the meantime Ling, our graphic and set designer, has completed the show program that will contain the setlist and the coins. And it's off to the printers today!

What about the dancing you might ask? Well after practicing 3 hours each night of the week and running through the entire setlist on Saturday we finally had our first show mock-up on Sunday.

At 3.30pm we lay out the 24 costumes in our improvised changing room (a dance studio) while our sound engineer Matt was getting acquainted with the 24 tracks.

We marked a stage on the floor of the studio and set the jukebox in the corner.
Soon we were all ready, waiting for Patti Cakes to pull the choreography order out of a hat (well a tin cup in that case) and our stage help Caitlin to send the outcome backstage. You could feel the excitement and tension in the room.

The mock-up went like a breeze. Of course there were some costumes still being created and some that need to be altered!
Now it's time to clean the finer details, like our quick changes!
