Last Thursday on the radio

Last Thursday Nicole was promoting the Jukebox Show on the radio FREE FM - Artspace.

For those of you who didn't get the chance to listen to her live, here it is at last!

You can also download or listen to the entire show by going to the on demand download section of the Community Radio Hamilton website. Just need to select "Arts and Culture". The show was aired on the 06/09/12.

Practice updates: First run through

The countdown is on. 3 weeks to go. Today was our first run through.

It all began at 12:30pm, when we started to organize the practice schedule so that it would run as smoothly as possible. We prepared a run order and started sorting out which costumes we had complete and ready for photos. The photos will be for the backstage hands to see a complete outfit so no dancer runs on stage missing something!

At 2:30pm sharp we began the photoshoot with the 6 dancers at hand.

Then by 3:30pm all 9 dancers came together to have our first run though of the choreographies. We got to see where we need work, and smooth out some minor details (such as some of us running into each other!). Watching us and taking notes was our MC Patti Cakes.

Starting with 9 of us, and moving through all the group choreograpies.
Cancan, Medleys, Chair, Charleston......

The group shrunk down to 6, the jazz and contemporary begins.
You see us throwing ourselves on the floor, triple turns.

Then there were 3. For 2 very challenging routines. Hoping the audience will choose these!
And finished it all off with an elvis number!

Jukebox Radio

Yes, that's true, Pineapple Jukebox will be on the radio tonight. Our lovely Media coordinator Nicole will talk about the show on Artspace.

So if you're in Waikato region tune to FREE FM 89.0 tonight from 5.00pm.
Or just go online to listen to the live streaming. Nicole should be on at around 5.40pm

The wait is over folks, the Hamilton footages from our promo Sunday are here... And while the photo galeries are still uploading here is the Jukebox promo video that Geraldine has created!

Back from our photoshoot in Hamilton

Today some of the Jukebox dancers went to Hamilton City to shoot our promo pictures!

We found a beautiful spot at The Gardens, in front of the lake where we set up on the stage that we thought was there just for us! Posed with our Jukebox (star of the show) showing off some of our moves and entertaining the lovely public of the city! 

We had adults, grannies and kids come running to see what was happening! What a rush! So many aspiring tiny tot dancers posing with our girls!

We then performed a quick number in our ensemble costumes, to add to our interactive photoshoot.

After a quick break and some lunch we moved right into the city centre to see what we could do- we found a water fountain. Perfect backdrop for our mix of styles and colours! More interested people came flocking over to grab flyers, see th jukebox and of course try some of our moves!
